I had the opportunity to chat with one of the stars of the show Kamran Darabi-Ford who plays Robin (Dick Grayson). I really enjoyed speaking with him and learned a lot more about the show. Kamran has been playing Robin now for 1 ½ years and genuinely feels blessed to have been given the opportunity to play this part.

Unlike most Batman shows or movies, Batman Live actually focuses more around Robin’s story and how he and Batman became the Dynamic Duo. However, you will also see many familiar characters in the show such as Alfred, The Joker, Catwoman, The Riddler, Harly Quinn, Poison Ivy and The Penguin.
My one concern was that the show may be a little too scary or complex for younger kids. Kamran reassured me that this was a show for all ages. There really was not a target audience. There may be parts that are more relevant to an older audience but it does not exclude the younger kids. He did say that there are darker moments but they are not too scary for the children. He also added that there is no need for any prior knowledge to Batman to understand or enjoy the show. So no matter your age or Batman knowledge, you will have a great time!
Lastly, I asked Kamran to share with me, without going into too much detail about the show, what we are going to be the most surprised about. He told me that people really do not know what to expect when they come to see the show. Many people think it is a musical, but it is not. People will be surprised how invested they become in the characters and how much they really care about them. You will get drawn into the story. He even shared that there is a point in the show where Batman is brought down by The Joker and when Batman triumphed, the audience reacted and clapped.
After talking with Kamran I am now even more excited to go see Batman Live. The show looks amazing and I can’t wait to see the kids reaction.
